کوئلہ کان میں پیش آنے والے ہولناک حادثے کے بعد بلوچستان کے علاقے سورینج (سپین کاریز) میں جاں بحق ہونے والے 34 کان کنوں میں سے 32 کی میتیں جمعہ کو خیبر پختونخوا کے ضلع شانگلہ میں ان کے آبائی علاقوں میں پہنچا دی گئیں، جبکہ باقی دو میتوں کی منتقلی کے لیے کاغذی کارروائی جاری ہے۔
حکام کے مطابق حادثے میں جاں بحق ہونے والے مزدوروں میں ایک ہی خاندان کے تین سگے بھائی اور ان کے چچا شامل ہیں، جبکہ ایک دوسرے خاندان کے دو سگے بھائی بھی جان کی بازی ہار گئے۔ جاں بحق افراد میں 22 کان کنوں کا تعلق شانگلہ کے علاقے میاں کلے پیرآباد سے تھا، جبکہ دیگر مزدور قریبی دیہات کے رہائشی تھے۔ زیادہ تر متاثرین آپس میں قریبی رشتہ دار تھے۔
حادثے کے باعث کئی خاندانوں نے ایک سے زائد افراد کو کھو دیا، جس سے متعدد بچے یتیم اور خواتین بیوہ ہو گئیں۔ ایک ہی روز درجنوں جنازوں کی آمد پر پورا شانگلہ سوگ میں ڈوب گیا۔
نماز جمعہ کے اجتماعات میں جاں بحق کان کنوں کے لیے خصوصی دعائیں کی گئیں، جبکہ نماز کے بعد مختلف علاقوں میں احتجاجی مظاہرے بھی ہوئے۔ مظاہرین نے حکومت سے کان کنوں کی جان و مال کے تحفظ اور ان کے بنیادی حقوق یقینی بنانے کا مطالبہ کیا۔
بعد ازاں جاں بحق مزدوروں کی اجتماعی نماز جنازہ ادا کی گئی اور انہیں ان کے آبائی علاقوں میں سپردِ خاک کر دیا گیا۔
شانگلہ کے سماجی رہنماؤں اور مزدور تنظیموں نے وفاقی اور بلوچستان حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ سورینج کان حادثے کی شفاف عدالتی تحقیقات کرائی جائیں، ذمہ داروں کے خلاف قانونی کارروائی کی جائے اور جاں بحق مزدوروں کے ورثا کو مناسب مالی امداد اور سرکاری ملازمتیں فراہم کی جائیں۔
انہوں نے مزید مطالبہ کیا کہ تمام کان کن مزدوروں کی لازمی رجسٹریشن، سوشل سکیورٹی، ای او بی آئی، لائف انشورنس اور ہیلتھ انشورنس کو یقینی بنایا جائے، جبکہ کوئلہ کانوں میں عالمی معیار کے حفاظتی اصول نافذ کرنے، باقاعدہ معائنوں، جدید ٹیکنالوجی کے استعمال اور مؤثر قانون سازی کے ذریعے مزدوروں کے تحفظ کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔
