قومی ٹیسٹ اسکواڈ کا اعلان سلیکشن کمیٹی کے رکن عاقب جاوید نے کیا۔ اس موقع پر سلیکشن کمیٹی کے رکن اسد شفیق اور سابق کپتان مصباح الحق بھی ان کے ہمراہ موجود تھے۔
اعلان کردہ 16 رکنی اسکواڈ میں بابر اعظم (کپتان)، شان مسعود، امام الحق، اذان اویس، عبداللہ فضل، سلمان علی آغا، غازی غوری، محمد رضوان، ساجد خان، علی عثمان، عامر جمال، محمد علی، محمد عباس، عبید شاہ، اویس ظفر اور خرم شہزاد شامل ہیں۔
سلیکشن کمیٹی نے بتایا کہ مڈل آرڈر بیٹر سعود شکیل فٹنس مسائل کے باعث اسکواڈ میں جگہ نہیں بنا سکے۔
شیڈول کے مطابق پاکستان ٹیم اپنے دورے کا آغاز ویسٹ انڈیز کے خلاف ٹیسٹ سیریز سے کرے گی۔ قومی ٹیم 18 جولائی کو ٹراوبا میں وارم اپ میچ کھیلے گی، جبکہ پاکستان اور ویسٹ انڈیز کے درمیان پہلا ٹیسٹ میچ 25 سے 29 جولائی تک ٹراوبا میں کھیلا جائے گا۔
اس موقع پر میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے عاقب جاوید نے کہا کہ وہ اور اسد شفیق گزشتہ 18 ماہ سے سلیکشن کمیٹی کا حصہ ہیں، جبکہ مصباح الحق اور سرفراز احمد چھ ماہ قبل کمیٹی میں شامل ہوئے۔
