ملیر پولیس کے مطابق واقعہ تھانہ شرافی گوٹھ کی حدود میں ملیر ندی بند کے قریب پیش آیا، جہاں گشت پر مامور پولیس پارٹی کا مبینہ مسلح ڈاکوؤں سے سامنا ہوا۔ پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ اہلکاروں کو دیکھتے ہی ملزمان نے فائرنگ شروع کر دی، جس کے بعد پولیس نے جوابی کارروائی کی۔
پولیس کے مطابق جوابی فائرنگ میں ذوالفقار علی نامی ملزم زخمی ہو گیا، جسے گرفتار کر کے طبی امداد کے لیے جناح اسپتال منتقل کر دیا گیا، جبکہ اس کا مبینہ ساتھی جبران موقع سے فرار ہو گیا۔
پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ گرفتار ملزم کے قبضے سے ایک غیر قانونی 30 بور پستول، گولیاں، نقد رقم، دو مبینہ طور پر چھینے گئے موبائل فون اور 125 سی سی موٹر سائیکل (نمبر KTL-6886) برآمد ہوئی، جو ابتدائی معلومات کے مطابق ڈیفنس کے علاقے سے چھینی گئی تھی۔
ملیر پولیس کے مطابق فرار ہونے والے ملزم کی گرفتاری کے لیے مختلف مقامات پر چھاپے مارے جا رہے ہیں، جبکہ گرفتار ملزم کا سابقہ مجرمانہ ریکارڈ بھی حاصل کیا جا رہا ہے۔
